Configuring Facial Recognition

1.Overview

Facial recognition serves as one of convenient and touch-free door access, which can be configured on the device directly as well as on the device web interface. This article helps you walk through the configuration of the facial recognition feature in terms of face data registration, facial data management, lift control via facial recognition, facial recognition accuracy, and facial recognition intervals in order to enjoy a full facial recognition function.

2.Face Recognition Basic Setting on the Device

If you want to access the door by facial recognition, you can configure or modify the facial recognition setting on the device directly.

To configure the basic facial recognition on the device, you can do as follows:

1.Click Face icon on the setting screen on the device.
2.Press Confirm tab to agree to the facial data collection.
3.Press Register tab to start the registration process.


4.Enter the Registration name and Floor number and press Register.


Floor number is an optional setting.


5.Stand in front of the door phone camera in a distance between 0.5–1 meters and keep your face in the center of round frame for ten seconds until your facial ID is successfully collected.


6.Press the the facial icon on the facial recognition screen and then press Delete All tab if you want to delete the registered facial data.


3.Face Recognition Basic Setting on the Web Interface

You can configure and adjust facial recognition accuracy, recognition intervals according to your actual need.

To do the basic configuration on the web interface, you can do as follows:

1.Click Intercom >Face > Face Basic.
2.Set up the parameters for facial recognition accuracy and intervals etc.
3.Click Submit tab for validation and Cancel tab for cancellation.



Parameters:

* Face Recognition: Click on “Enable” to turn on the facial recognition function. Facial recognition is enabled by default.
* Recognize Option: Click to select the facial recognition accuracy level among four options: Low, Normal, High, Highest. The higher level, the lower error recognition rate without live detection. For example, if you select “ Highest” then there will be the least possibility that someone else will be mistaken for you by the device or in another way round in the facial recognition.
* Antispoofing Option: Select Anti-spoofing level among four options: Low, Normal, High, Highest. The higher level, the lower error recognition rate with live detection. For example, if you select “Highest” then there will be least possibility that the device will be fooled by digital images or pictures of any kinds.
* Facial Recognition Interval: Select time interval between every two facial recognition from 1-8 seconds. For example, if you select “5” then you have to wait for 5s. before you are allowed to perform the facial recognition again. Offline Learning: Select “Enable” if you want to improve the device recognizing capability of focusing on the major facial characteristics while sidelining the minor changes that occurred to your face. The facial recognition accuracy improves as the number of facial recognition increases.
* Tips When Succeed: Select tips when you pass the facial recognition for the door access. If you select “Default “ then you will be prompted by the message “Opening Door Succeeded” along with the prompt sound “Welcome, please come in” when you pass the facial recognition for the door access while if you select “Resident Name” instead, you will be prompted by your name shown on the screen. And you will be prompted by the message “Opening Door Failed” along with the failure sound when your facial recognition fails.

If disable the open door succeeded/failed tone, the door phone will not prompt the open door sound.

4.Face Recognition Accuracy Improvement

If you want to improve the facial recognition accuracy and user experience, you can do it by allowing your data and debug information to be uploaded to Akuvox Cloud.And this function can only be applied when the door phone is connected to the Akuvox cloud. Moreover, log files can also be exported out to improve the facial recognition accuracy and to address the related problems manually.

To Improve the face recognition accuracy, you can do as follows:

1.Click Intercom > Face > Face Experience Improvement.
2.Enable the data export in Face Experience Improvement field.
3.Set the date on which you want to export the data in Export Log field.


5.Lift control via Facial Recognition

You can search and find your facial data collected in the device or you can also delete the data separately or in batch if needed.

To achieve lift control via facial recognition,you can do as follows:

1.Click Intercom > Face > Face Setting.
2.Enter or edit your Lift floor number.



Parameter:

Lift Floor Number: Enter or edit the floor number for the lift control. For example, if you set the floor number as “28” then the lift will send you to 28th floor automatically however, the floor number must be corresponded to the specific contact.

6.Facial Recognition Data Management

You can search and find your facial data collected in the device or you can also delete the data separately or in batch if needed.

To search and delete the data, you can do as follows:

1.Click Intercom > Face > Face Management. 2.Enter the information such as name and press Search tab to find the face data.
3.Check the specific facial data you want to delete.
4.Click Delete tab to delete the facial data you selected.
5.Click Delete All tab to delete all the data collected.


7.Facial ID data Import& Export

R29 series support facial ID data to shared among Akuvox R29 series door phones through import and export of the facial data in different door phones.

To do so, you can do as follows:

1.Click Intercom > Face > Face Import/Export.
2.Click on Select File tab to upload the facial ID data files.
3.Click on Import tab to import the file to the device.
4.Click on Export tag to export the file out of the device.
5.Click Submit tab for validation and Cancel tab for the cancellation.

8.Unlock by Facial Recognition


To gain the door access via the facial recognition, you can do as follows.

1.Go to home screen of the building mode or unlock screen of the villa or office mode.
2.Stand in front of door phone camera in distance between 0.5–1 meters and keep your face in the center of the square frame.
3.Wait for the facial recognition result for the door access.
